Aaron Lazansky-Olivas PKA SpazeCraft, Born 1970, NYC
is a multi-disciplined Artist, Educator, Cultural Producer and Chief Creative Director of Soh Nup Ink / EDU living in the Bronx with his wife & 4 yr old son Zeek.

The name "Spaze Crafte" comes from an old graffiti tag from 1986, "SC1". As a visual artist as well as an experimental DJ / Producer, he dubbed himself the "Crafter of Spaze" & it stuck.

For the past 20 plus years, Spaze has been providing innovative urban arts, culture, and media literacy programming to community members & educators nationally & globally.
Spaze founded "Elevated Urban Arts & Education" in 1996 and ran the first Urban Arts & Media in-school program in the U.S., Robert F. Wagner Secondary School of Arts & Tech, Queens NY.
Fast forward to 2015 & again Spaze pushes the envelope of media arts education by instigating/leading the 1st ever Digital Music Production Program at Carnegie Hall, as a partnership with World UP/Building Beats supported by the Hive Digital Learning Network & the NYCT with a 100K pilot grant. Spaze now integrates Food Justice & Holistic Wellness into his media arts workshops.

Spaze has spoken at the Whitney Museum of Art as part of their “Generation Next” teen curated series, Spoken at Fordham University as part of the “Hip-Hop Psychology” Conference 2014, as well as conducted Professional Development workshops at PASE @ PACE & the ESCOLTA Conferences in 2016.

As a DJ / experimental hip hop / electronic producer / performer, Spaze is featured on compilations & has shared the stage with artists such as:
Bill Laswell, Rob Swift (Xecutioners), Prince Paul (De La Soul), Steve Roach, P.U.D.G.E.,
Suzi Analog, DJ Spooky, Gil Scott Heron, Graham Haynes, Otomo Yoshihida, Legendary DJ’s DJ Kool Herc, Francois K, the late Pauline Olivaros, the Original Jazzy Jay & many others in the genres of Hip-Hop, Ambient, EDM, Illbient, Dub & Experimental Jazz.
Spaze has composed soundtracks to independent films, documentaries, dance choreography, created interactive sound installations and has performed his compositions locally, nationally & internationally.

Spaze currently teaches his “Sample Universe!” Digital Music Production program with Carnegie Hall & the Dept. of Probation at the Bronx NeON Arts Center, composes music for Performance with the Movement of the People Dance Company & is exploring Modular Synthesis, interactive installation, & multi-channel sound for future compositions.
