Trinayan Baruah is a Los Angeles based producer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and a singer-songwriter. An alumni from Berklee College of Music in Boston, the 26 year old musician from a small village in the northeastern part of India has earned the opportunity to perform in some of the best venues in the world and with some extremely talented musicians, including Grammy and Academy award winners. He is currently working with over 70 musicians from 35 countries as an executive producer supervising the administrative, financial and musical duties for a world music project.

Trinayan was born in a strong cultural and musical family consisting of musicians, dancers and actors who are active regional performers. Trinayan’s mother, an Indian classical singer, spent many hours a day doing ‘Ryaz’,
an Indian style of practicing music, when she was expecting him. His father used to accompany her on Tabla. Thus, his introduction to music started even before he was born. He began his training for voice from his mother at the age of two and showed a keen interest in playing various instruments. By the age of 15, he was able to play the congo, thumba, drum set, guitar, dutora, pepa, gogona, taal, and dhol and started composing his own music. He developed a unique style of playing the 12-string guitar and simultaneously playing rhythms wearing Ghungroos, an anklet containing metallic balls tied to the feet of Indian classical dancers. As a teenager he performed in various parts of India, winning awards along the way. He eventually formed a metal band during his days as an engineering student, which received appreciation in the southern part of India. The admission decision from Berklee came at a time when he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was recruited during campus placements by IBM. He chose to chase his dreams and pursue music as a career, leaving behind his established engineering background.
Trinayan believes that music is a language, an essential medium that can help transform the world to be a better place to live. He strongly believes that music is the only tool which can naturally change the mindset of people without placing restrictions on them. This concept can be easily identified in his compositions such as
“Story of a Musician” and “Heartbeat”.
