Music Ascension is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled teacher to facilitate our Songwriting & Recording workshops as well as lead a Bucket Drumming Class during an After-School Program in the East Village of NYC.  Must have skills required to help students write, record, and produce their own music.

 

Responsibilities:

Experience with songwriting and music technology, including ProTools and/or Logic and/or Ableton and/or Reason
Communicate with After-School Program leadership, Music Ascension leadership and students effectively.
Know how to operate and light troubleshoot recording equipment/software
Send Weekly Reports.
Must be organized, confident yet highly cooperative, have strong teaching/leading experience, and wield an efficient work flow in Pro Tools, Logic, Reason and/or Ableton.

Program Details: 

Length of Residency: 15 weeks

Start Date: Feb, 9, 2017, Short Presentation to Students FEB 6

Day of Week: THURSDAYS

Number of Classes per day: 2

Class Size: 20-25 students

School Staff Support: 2 aides each class

Class Times: 2:50-3:50pm, 4:15-5:15pm

Student Age: Grades2 (Bucket Drumming)

                                        Grades 3 and 5 (Songwriting & Music Production)

                                        ** Performance Date: June 2, 2017 1:30pm and 5:00pm

                                        ** CD Release Celebration: date TBD, June 15?

TEACHING ARTIST COMPENSATION

$65 per workshop x 2 workshops per day =$130 per day + $15 per day equipment cartage
