From 1999 to 2012, Music Ascension led a songwriting and recording program as part of Project Morry. We released three studio albums every summer featuring the original lyrics, music, and artwork of campers. Students from this program have gone on to study music production in college and have staffed programs at Project Morry and Chancellor Academy. The program has been featured on WFUV and WBAI. Project Morry continues to work with Music Ascension and Camp Echo Lake as part of the Camp to Camp program, where students from both camps collaborate to write and record an album.

Project Morry is a nationally recognized non-profit, youth development organization that empowers youth from underserved communities in the Bronx, Amityville, NY and Bridgeport, CT to envision a positive future. The organization is dedicated to giving children year round support with enriching learning opportunities through a curriculum based on school gatherings and an intensive summer camp program. The children, for whom these experiences would not otherwise be available, benefit from a network of support and gain increased social skills, enhanced self-esteem, positive core values and a greater sense of personal responsibility.

In schools and communities where fewer than 50% of incoming ninth graders graduate from high school, 100% of the young people who have completed the Project Morry program have completed high school on time and have graduated to pursue higher education, military service or join the workforce as responsible citizens.
