WORKING FROM THE INSIDE OUT
The Songwriting Apprenticeship Program offers young people and adults the opportunity to dive deeper into their own stories while exploring in personal ways the evolving craft of songwriting.
Apprentices are paired with one Master Teaching Artist throughout the entire program who will work immediately to understand your own songwriting process as a basis from which to expand and further develop your creative voice.
Utilizing lyrics and songs from your own catalog, we will make connections to, as well as explore points of divergence with, the work of an individually curated selection of impactful songwriters.
From there, we will also delve into various song forms, structures, literary devices and techniques. Not only will you increase the number of tools you have in your creative toolbox, more importantly, you will have a greater ability to explore and employ the tools you will find within you.
